We welcome back Dr Space Toad!
Dr Space Toad is a True Inter-galactic Troubadour and Bard who has written over two hundred songs, the lyrics range from romantic to the mystical, environmental, surreal and anything in between. However not all have them have been properly recorded and some have been lost. If anyone finds any of them lying in the gutters of Pluto please let him know.
His lyrics are very poetic and as well he is a painter, writer, actor and composer. Although more appreciated on other planets than this one. His favourite poets, are himself, Baudelaire, Kafka, Herman Hesse, Flan O' Brian, and Guru Mc Coypu amongst many others.
He has published a book of his lyrics and poetry which is available on Amazon. It is the first of a Trilogy called.. "Candle Light in the Void. No.1" by Jean Paul Ruskinson (One of his earlier Nom de Plumes). Along with a few others of his books: "The Trials and Tribulations of a Twenty-First Century Troubadour in Paris " " Ne Poussez pas le Fleuve," "The Thwarted Tangentialist," "The Marriage du Roi Bizare and "The Thwarted Tangentialist from the end of Time", "Gerald the Pig" and Uncle Toby the Tapir; They can all be found on the BOOKS page of www.Paulfrancistroubadourspacetoad.com
He has to date produced more than 16 CDS of music most of which are available. Many illuminating musicians have recorded and performed with Dr Space Toad, including Captain Sensible, Monty Oxymoron, and Captain Barrington White.
Paul's lyrics are very poetic and indeed he is a poet as well as a painter, writer, actor and composer. Appearing with Dr Space Toad, with be a welcome return with ex RMC member and Sumerian Kyngs Cliff Dowding on keys, the Damned’s Monty Oxymoron on percs, and Gregg McKella (Paradise 9/Glissando Guitar Orchestra/Judge Trev Band) on clarinet.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, The Southern Slamdoor Band have had to pull out of this gig, due to health reasons.
So we welcome back Monty Oxymoron, keyboard player for punk legends The Damned, who has kindly agreed to play an intimate set, bang in between The Damned’s European tour.
Gregg, from Paradise 9, will be opening the gig playing an eclectic mix of songs from his upcoming solo album he is presently recording. He will be ably aided with guests from Paradise 9, Tyrone Thomas on guitar and Wayne Collyer on percussion.
This will be his first gig since his operation for prostate cancer, which he made a series of YouTube videos recording his journey and raising awareness of the disease that affects 1 in 8 guys.
