The One - 'Lighter than Air UK Tour' (Support from Richard Brincklow)

Described as ‘…quintessential neo prog at its finest”, by House of Prog, The One hails from Holland but with a distinctly English pedigree. Formed in 2022 by drummer/producer Tim Van Der Holst in collaboration with Frank Fish, they released their debut album ‘Sunrise’ in 2023, drawing on Tim’s early influences - Yes, King Crimson and Genesis. The release of album two, ‘Lighter than Air’ (Nov 2025 Construction Records) marks the birth of The One as a true band with six permanent members, three English and three Dutch, blending a multitude of influences and styles both individually and collectively.

Musically, 'Lighter than Air' represents a clear step forward. Where the debut leaned heavily on the legacy of 70’s progrock, the sequel has a more contemporary edge and sound - while retaining the archetypal prog elements : epic compositions, adventurous rhythms and virtuosic instrumental passages all with the unique sound of The One.

Pianist and producer Richard Brincklow's music draws influence from ECM Jazz, Electronica and Contemporary Classical. It has featured on Stuart Maconie's Freak Zone, R3's Late Junction and Jamie Cullum's Jazz show. Joined here by longtime musical partner Nick Gibson on Saxophone, they will be performing and improvising around music from Richard's forthcoming album 'Storm at the Brewery' as well as dipping into his sister project Bledig's back catalogue.
