More Info
The Contingency Project - a passionate 4 piece indie garage outfit from Brighton who marry big riffs and catchy hooks with emotive lyrics.
The band formed at the beginning of 2023 and since then have been shaping their sonic identity around meaningful songs written by lead vocalist, Pablo Curtis. His lyrics focus on interpersonal relationships and the strengths and struggles surrounding our emotional connections to one another.
Their first single ‘Mamihlapinatapai’ is out now and is defined as ‘a look shared by two people, each wishing that the other would initiate something that they both desire, but which neither wants to begin.’
The band is so named because each member would rather have the agency to constantly be making music, but are hindered by mundane jobs. The band feel this is a hugely relatable theme for a wider majority of people whose lives are consumed by jobs they have no interest in doing. Writing relatable music from a place of experience and authenticity gives The Contingency Project a platform to project raw and emotive performances to any audience who see them live.
