Rosie Brown and her posse of extraordinary musicians return to The Brunswick for the last date of their October mini tour. Celebrating the release of DETAIL FROM A DREAM, the fourth studio album from singer-songwriter Rosie Brown and Bernd Rest (guitarist, co-writer, producer/arranger), this gig will feature the full band, which includes longstanding musical accomplices Simon Russell (bass and voice), Paul May (drums), Robin Hopcraft (trumpet and flugelhorn) – plus a super-special and rare appearance by keyboardist Markus Marageter (who has been with them from start, but is not usually in the UK). Weaving folk, jazz and blues influences, with glimpses of Nick Drake and vintage John Martyn, the band is at the height of its powers, and DETAIL FROM A DREAM expresses a musical sensibility all of its own. Drawing on country, ‘60s surf and classical, this is beguiling and intricate music, filmic, funky and fragile. “A slice of hallucinatory Americana… Brown’s world is inviting, deftly summoning musical ghosts – like the Aladdin-Sane style flourish of All Around the World.”

* * * * Mojo “Classic contemporary folk with eclectic embellishments… pulls at the heartstrings with regret-tinged hypnotic refrain.” * * * *RnR Magazine “I’ve been absolutely knocked out by this… Superb. It’s kind of a mixture of folk and jazz, but it’s impossible to describe. I am genuinely lost for words.”

Frank Hennessy, BBC Radio “Absolutely gorgeous.”

Pete Jones, Radio Reverb “Beautifully built songs… Only a step away from the long-gone West Coast coolness of Crosby, Stills & Nash.”

At the Barrier “Just haunting… Wonderfully melancholic.”

Wah Wah 45s “Elemental, sensual…evocative of Les Paul backed by Goldfrapp”
