After years of teasing fans with snippets of material on social media, Lokust have finally emerged in unwavering confidence with their extremely ambitious and undeniably visceral debut album Infidel.
The first taste of Lokust's unforgiving brand of modern metal came in 2019 with "Guiltless", a zero-budget instrumental demo video that reached 1 million views in a matter of months and has more than doubled that since. But even that incendiary first glimpse only hinted at the levels of emotive depth and kinetic violence that lokust would conjure with a completed lineup and Mark Lewis (Trivium, Devildriver, Whitechapel) behind the mixing desk.
In the few weeks since releasing Infidel, the band have played 3 packed shows including an unannounced warm up gig, the headline album release show and bloodstock festival, and all 3 shows have been nothing short of pure mayhem, with fans continuing to mosh with heads gushing blood or leaving in medical stretchers after the very first 'wall of death' of bloodstock 2023.
Needless to say, Lokust have tapped into something primal that the current metal audience have been sorely starved of, and despite the unhinged and frenetic energy of their music, the band are taking care to purposefully calculate every step.
