Gemma and the Driver "Brexecution"

Gemma and the Driver are a half-French, energetically chic duo with a show that straddles electro-pop, acoustic rockabilly, and decadently haunting surf girl rock as effortlessly as Jean-Claude Van Damme between two ostriches. After signing with the label Blue Pince Production, Gemma and the Driver recorded their second album, “Juge, Jury, Bourreau” (Judge, Jury, Executioner), in 2024 and released it earlier this year. After five years of successful touring in France and Switzerland (including opening for Eagle Eye Cherry in 2023), they're bringing their vast stage experience to the UK for the first time.

The songs are sunny reflections on dark times, featuring 60s Brigitte Bardot-style songwriting with the cheeky confidence of 90s Liam Gallagher. With a dose of British self-deprecation and a splash of French whimsical philosophy, this power duo, who live and work across the channel, evoke a version of the world where SHOO WAPS heal culture wars and harmonies can make death and heartbreak seem “beau” or, at least, “vivant.”
