Brighton Bluegrass & Old-Time Day: Evening Concert

This edition of Brighton Bluegrass & Old Time Day has three incredible bands providing the evening entertainment:

Flint County

Chris and the band met each other at Worthing bluegrass jam session. They share a love for the same bands, such as Hot Rize, Union Station and The Tony Rice Unit. 

They gig around the south coast and have found support from The Brunswick in Hove, where Chris runs a monthly bluegrass jam with the band's mandolin player, Chris Stockel. Eaton also organised the first ever Brighton bluegrass day at The Brunswick in March '25, which Flint County played at, sharing the bill with The Hackney Hillpickers and The Ragged Out String Band. 

Old Baby Mackerel

"Bluegrass like no other! That impossibly illusive blend of traditional Apalachian virtuosity and hard driving rhythm mixed with modern sensibility, tasteful originals, three-part harmonies and mind-boggling technical wizardry.”

They have recently featured on BBC 6 Music, in The British Bluegrass News and completed a run of sold-out shows at venues across the UK, Ireland and mainland Europe, played main stage slots at Glastonbury, Boomtown, Shambala, Latitude, and further afield at Westport Bluegrass (Ireland), Willisau (Switzerland), Nääsville (Sweden), Pflasterspektakel (Austria) and Jai Thep (Thailand).
