Awwww I Feel Good…...
Ken Wood and the Mixers bring their fantastic Edinburgh Fringe show back to Brighton for a second year. The band have been serving up foot stomping Soul, Rhythm and blues and Ska music in the pubs and clubs of the UK for many years. In 2017 they wrote a show that combined the history of soul music and stories of some of the greatest performers like Otis Redding, James Brown and John Lee Hooker, with live performances of some of their greatest songs. The show was so successful that the band wrote a follow up about the different styles of soul music and the US cities where the songs were written and recorded. This got rave reviews and positive feedback at Edinburgh and at the Brunswick. So put on your sharp suit and two tone tie, get out your dancing shoes and get on down to the fabulous Amazing Stories of Blues and Soul.
The band are:
Kenneth B Woode - vocals, harmonica and general looning around
Captain Ketch – guitar, vocals and sensible head midst the chaos
Franklyn J Peel – guitar and keyboards. Definitely not vocals, do not let this man near a microphone
Mr Keith – bass and vocals
Darth Whirlpool – drums. Darth is from South Shields. I guess someone has to be
Wayne Fury – saxophone and vocals
Marcus Blitz – trumpet, and yes that’s his real name
Rex Everything - trombone
