122 Music Management: Hove Calling

122 Music Management present Hove Calling - a feast of independent music to satisfy your hungry bank holiday ears. The artists are mainly based in/around London, with a couple of fine local acts making uo our magnificent seven. Entry is free. Donations kindly accepted and will be shared directly with the artists.

Pet Twin (5.00pm)

Pet Twin is the tomb by the sounding sea. A home in the middle of the storm for your ghosts and mine. We will meet each other in tidal dreams until the end of time. Always, I am your sea.

The Awkward Silences (5.45pm)

Outsider pop mavericks The Awkward Silences are led by Paul Hawkins, a disability advocate and expert in the cultural history of Father Christmas. The band have released four albums of chaotic, catchy punk and idiosyncratic storytelling. They have recorded radio sessions for the BBC, performed at the Latitude, Kendal Calling and Liberty festivals and toured with American anti-folk antihero Jeffrey Lewis.  Absurd, agitated,  anarchic and riotously good fun.

Sweet Chap (6.30pm)

Sweet Chap is the moniker for artist and producer Mike R Comber. Under this alias Mike delivers his unique blend of emotion driven alt electronica rock.

Stage Door Guy (7.15pm)

A Mancunian was lost, alone and in the gutter in New Orleans on Ash Wednesday. Guitar legend Mr CJ Willliams offered him a whskey and Stage Door Guy was born. Punk blues was born. Channeling Dr John Cooper Clarke, Professor Longhair with Velvelt Underground playing on the radio.    

The Outers (8.00pm)

An addictive mix of post-punk precision, Britpop melody and dark electro-pop, driven by full-bodied synths, sharp hooks and textured guitars. Fronted by Ade alongside Phil, the duo deliver high-energy live shows built on tension, chemistry and connection.

Darren Mason (8.45pm)

Darren Mason is a South London artist, songwriter and producer whose live show refuses to stay in one lane. Blending soulful alt-pop, hip-hop and rock with flashes of jazz, blues and experimental pop, he moves between singing, rapping, piano and tuba with an instinct for improvisation and connection.

Still Traffico (9.30pm)

Still Traffico takes inspiration from Michael Head and Bill Ryder-Jones as particular influences. Their go-to genres for ideas also range from African desert blues to contemporary house, post-rock, 80’s new wave, and post-punk.
