Mehfil-e-Brunswick - Midsummer Special with Ustad Muhammed Irfan Khan and Junaid Ali

Mehfil-e-Brunswick in collaboration with Bristol Baithaks comes to Hove in June for a mid-summer evening. Hear the renowned sarod maestro Ustad (Master) Muhammad Irfan Khan, from a lineage and a family in India who not only carry the musical tradition but also are the initiators of the beautiful lyrical string instrument itself.  Junaid Ali, UK based tabla artist will accompany Ustad Irfan - some of you will have seen Junaid perform elsewhere in Brighton & Hove: this is your chance to hear him play again, accompanying the master sarod player.

It will be a mid-summer night to remember. Come and relax on warm rugs. Or sit at tables in candlelight. We're bringing samosas this time you can nibble on too. So - just bring yourselves, and open heart and mind to experience the emotion of the ragas and the virtuoso technique that Ustad Irfan will share. You might want to bring an extra cushion too... always helpful!
